Before reading
Invite curiosity first
Show students the cover and ask what they notice about the bear and owl. What might make these two animals unlikely friends? What clues suggest where their adventure takes place?
Let children predict freely. The purpose is not to find one correct answer, but to help them enter the story with curiosity and ownership.
